poem twenty two: like a nightlight

‘…swinging gently in a hammock with the soft waves crashing in the background, glimpses of orange light flicker into her mind consuming the void of vision

a deep breath awakens her conscience as she wriggles her toes against the cotton, she feels grounded, free, floating between two tress which anchor her to the earth

she is at peace with her mind, lost in words from a novel, liberated from the daily grind of society

she tastes the morning coffee on her lips, the innocence of her body lying free as she traces the love line on her palm with her finger, remembering the tapestry of her life which has been weaved year by year

as the late moon makes way for the early beams of the sun the feeling of peace manifests itself within her soul, she has the urge to dive beneath the oceans surface, swim underneath raindrops, glide through the water with her golden complexion

her peace of mind illuminates like a nightlight, shining bright, leading her into the day ahead’
